Garmin is a best GPS system for road navigation.

I would suggestion a Garmin nuvi 265WT or Garmin nuvi 765T that have a Text-to-Speech (get turn-by-turn spoken directions with the real names of streets), Wide screen.

Garmin nuvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic

Generally everyone wants a GPS that is cheap in price, but high on quality and value.
It is refreshing to hear that you just want a nice GPS from a reputable company.
Therefore I would like to recommend the GPS that i have been using and stand by.
Sure you can always go with the tomtom's garmins or whatever, but if that were the case then why would you ask in yahoo answers. It seems that you have seen these models in action and are a bit shaky about them.
So I would send you in the direction of many of the newelectronx gps units for sale on the market. They have superb quality and customer service. Matched with a great warranty and top of the line technology in the marketplace (oops you don't care about the technology or newest this and that - just thought i would mention it. - grin), I would look into one of their units. They offer several different models too with the most IMPORTANT THING THAT YOU MENTIONED HERE - LOW LOW LOW LOW PRICE....!!!

Hope this helps.

There are so many options out there that it would be hard to give you a direct answer. Your best bet is to check out http://www.the-portable-gps.com and click on the category you are interested in. ie Auto gps, gps tracker etc. They have comparison charts on all the models and you can select the one that has all the features you want and the lowest price. Keep in mind the prices they show are the MSRP and you can always get on cheaper than that. Good luck

Critical Golf does a great job of providing unbiased reviews and head-to-head comparisons of GPS devices. They rate each device on categories like the available features, how easy it is to set-up the device, course coverage, ease-of-use, and value.

The golf GPS devices they review include the SkyCaddie, Callaway uPro, Garmin Approach G5, GolfBuddy Tour, OnPar, Sonocaddie, Golf Guru and others.

Check them out at http://criticalgolf.com/golf-gps-reviews/

Well, iv'e used the Mio c310x for over a year now. If the c320 is any indication from that, it should be a nice buy for the price. My c310x isn't 100% accurate, doesn't say actual street names (tho it does have voice guidance), and sometimes directs you the long way around to get to a destination, but it DOES get me there, so I have that to back me up concerning Mio's work.

On the one hand, Cnet's reviews as well as its users reviews rank the Garmin higher, and you're also able to get it cheaper.

On the otherhand, the Mio has a bigger screen......

If this is entry level, I'd say go with the Garmin. Else, may wanna check out the reviews in detail, and consider spending a 'lil more to get what you may also like in a GPS device

The MIO C330 is the hottest GPS system out there other than the Navigon. I work for radio shack and here's some info on it. The MIO was first being used in Great Britain. It was tested over seas and all the bugs were worked out of prior to coming the US. MIO has a a built in MP3 player, you can switch the screen mode from night view to day view, it has a lot of POI's and the screen is ultra thin. The only downfall to this GPS is the Text to Speech meaning that it won't tell you what street you're going to turn on, it will just tell you either to make a left or right and in how many yards. But all in all, the MIO is by far one of the best GPS systems released in the US.

I bought the same one that "Wondering" is talking about. It really is pretty cool, but the cheapest I could find it was $ 635 including tax. It has a "traffic avoidance" feature that incorporates local traffic reports for a monthly fee. It's the Garmin Street Pilot 330.

I have the streetpilot c330. It is awesome! It is smaller than some, not so heavy that it falls down from the window as much as others and -- most of all -- the directions are accurate! I trust GPS lady more than my maps or people's directions. It's really cool that "she" is reliable -- and quite entertaining. I love the "recalculating" when you forget to follw a turn. She sounds like she's saying "you idiot!!"

I think it would be funny if they programmed words like "what the *&^% are you doing? I told you to turn!!"

Until that happens, you are safe in getting the Garmin streetpilot!
