Question by Leymyeh: are GPS systems for Cars very reliable as a map and Navigator?
I’m going to be driving in LA and i’m renting a GPS for my rented vehicle. Is it really that reliable? or should i carry around a map of LA as well?

GPS is very reliable. However, you must know your destination to work well. You enter an address and the gps will map out the route. If you know all the destinations you want to travel to, a map is not necessary.
Personally I would carry a map in case I decided to visit somewhere I did not know the address of.

What is the most reliable gps for hiking and driving?

Question by kevin b: What is the most reliable gps for hiking and driving?
I recently started hiking and realized the gps unit that I own, does not work as a hiking/trail gps unit at all. If anyone has PERSONAL experience with one that works really well on the road and in the woods please let me know which model you would recommend. Failing that, if anyone can recommend just a hiking/trail gps unit that I can use solely for hiking that will work too. I have looked on a few sites and read mixed reviews on many different models so I am interested in hearing from people who hit the woods often and have come to rely on one particular model. Something that will not break the bank will be cool too.
